A documentary tracing the making and legacy of rapper Raekwon’s seminal 1995 album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… (“The Purple Tape”), featuring interviews with hip-hop heavyweights about its impact and the stories behind the song writing.
Wu-Tang rapper Raekwon wanted to have a graphic novel style feel to hybrid 2d/3d animations for the recreations of infamous moments from his time creating the "purple tape" AKA "Only Built for Cuban Linx". With graffiti artist Joex2 we drew Rae and the crew for various storybeats and mixed them into 3d comic book worlds. We also created various info GFX, maps, and the Main Title.
